On 11th February 2025, TYC President Gonpo Dhundup attended the cremation service of the late Kasur Gyalo Thondup in Kalimpong.
The ceremony was also attended by Sikyong Penpa Tsering la, Kalon (Minister) Gyari Dolma la, Shri Mingma Narbu Sherpa, Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Ven Sonam Lama, Minister of the Ecclesiastical Department of the Government of Sikkim, Kungoe Lobsang Jinpa La, Secretary of the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, members of the Tibetan Parliament, Dawa La Dapon of the Special Frontier Force, Settlement Officers, family members, heads of various organizations, and the general public.
The Tibetan Youth Congress Centrex along with RTYC Dhasa organized a prayer service at the Dalai Lama Temple to honor the memory of Kalon Trisur Kungo Gyalo Dhundup, the esteemed elder brother of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
The prayer service coincided with his funeral ceremony in Kalimpong.
