• LHASANG TSERING (PRO 1976; President 1986-1990; Editor of English “Rangzen”):
  Graduated from Wynberg Allen School. Held various posts in RTYC Dharamsala. As Centrex President, traveled widely around the world on lecture to campaign for Tibet. Resigned from Centrex in 1990. In 1972 joined Chushi Gangdrug guerilla in Mustang. Served at TCV School as its Principal and Deputy Director and also served in SFF. Worked in the Information Office, and was acting editor of Tibetan Review for some time. He worked at the Amnye Machen Institute (AMI), of which he was the one of the founder-Director.

 

• TSEWANG PHUNTSOK (Vice President 1989-90; President 1991-95):
  Did schooling from CST Mussorie and diploma course in Karnataka. Served as Gen. Secy. (1986-89), V. Prs. & Pre. (1983-86) of RTYC, Dharamsala and edited “Dhasa Messenger”. Travelled widely around the world during these tenures attending various conferences, speaking and lobbying for Tibet. He was in the SFF between 1975-76 and served in CTA as Secy. of the Delek Hospital; Head of the Health Education and Training Cell for the Department of Health. He also served in the DIIR and currently works as the liaison officer for South America desk in New York.

 

• Ven YESHI CHOEDAK (Social Wel. Off. 1986-89; Cul. Secy. 1989-90; V. Pres. 1991-02; Ed Tib: Rangzen):
  Born in Lhoka, studied at CST Shimla. Did his higher studies at the CIHTS in Varanasi where he also served in Principal’s office for one year after graduation. In 1975, he studied at Sera monastery in Bylakuppe and also taught novice monks for three years. He held various posts while at TYC Dharamsala. Since 1979, he has been serving with the Private Office of H. H. the Dalai Lama. Currently, he is working at the Department of Security as a Joint Secretary.

 

• TASHI PHUNTSOK (Jt. Secy 1986-89; Gen. Secy 1989-92; Editor of English ‘Rangzen’):
  Born in Nyalam, Tibet, he did his basic schooling at CST Mussoorie. Did his further studies in Chandigarh (BA Hons., LLB), Bangalore (B.Ed.) and Vellore (Diploma in Psychotherapy). Was a youth leader in Kollegal settlement, where he taught for 6 years, and served as President of RTY Chandigarh twice. Toured widely to campaign for Tibet. He headed the Africa and Middle East Desk in the Bureau of HH the Dalai Lama in New Delhi.

 

• LOBSANG NYANDAK (Jt. Secy 1991-92; Gen. Secy 1992-95; Editor English “Rangzen”):
  Born at Kalimpong in 1965, completed his schooling from SFF School and CST Mie. In 1986, earned B. A. and B. Ed. from Panjab University at Chandigarh. Served as Gen. Secy of RTYC, Chandigarh (1988-89) and as Exe. Secry at Centrex office (1990-91). Took over as Gen. Secy in 1992 and attended UN Conference in Egypt and made lecture tour in Sweden. Served as President of Tibetan Freedom Movement, Chandigarh (1989-90) & Gen. Secy/Spokesperson of Tibetan Peace March Committee. After TYC, he served in NDPT and also as Executive Director of TCHRD. Later he was appointed as Kalon for Finance and Health.

 

• NAMGYAL SHASTRI (Information Secy 1989-92; Gen Secy. 1992; Editor of Tibetan “Rangzen”):
  After schooling in CST Dalhousie, he studied at the CIHTS at Varanasi earning a Shastri degree (B.A.) in 1978. He held the post of Rupon, Vice President and General Secretary of the RTYC, Dharamsala. He taught Tibetan language at TCV School and joined CTA service at the DIIR in 1987 as a reporter. He resigned from Centrex in December 1992 to join VOA Tibetan Service in USA where he continues to this day.

 

• GYARI DOLMA (Information Secy. 1986-89; Joint Secretary 1989-91):
  Born in Kalimpong in 1964. Did schooling in CST Darjeeling and B. A. from Punjab University. She was actively involved in RTYC, Darjeeling. She was also involved with foreign students at Chandigarh where she was a member of the GLOBAL 86 youth anti-apartheid movement. While at Centrex, she toured Japan and Australia and resigned in 1991 when she was elected to the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile. At present she is the Deputy Speaker of Assembly of Tibetan People’s Deputies.

 

• KARMA CHOEKYI (Social Service Officer 1986-89; PRO 1989-92):
  Did her schooling at Tibetan Children’s Village, Dharamsala and Tibetan Homes Foundation, Mussoorie. She did Secretarial Course at New Delhi. She was an active member of the Tibetan Youth Congress branch of Delhi. She worked with the Charitrust Handicraft Exports and later with the Potala Tours & Travels, both in Delhi for many years.

 

• KARMA SAMTEN RAKAGME (Info. Secy 1990-92; V-President 1992-95; Editor Eng. “Rangzen”):
  Born at Gangtok, did schooling from TCV Dharamsala and CST, Mie. He got B.A. (English Hons.) and LL.B. from Delhi University. Held post of Jt. Secy twice (1983-4 & 1985-6) and V. Pres. twice (1989-90 & 1990-Dec) in RTYC, Delhi till he was inducted to Centrex following a vacancy. 1990-92 he functioned from Delhi as a Spokesman of TYC. Attended workshop on “Political Strategies” in Portugal. He edited ‘March’ RTYC, Delhi magazine (1984). Served as Jt. Secy of Tibetan Freedom Movement, Delhi (1986-88).

 

• THUPTEN WANGYAL alias Flying Monk (Finance Secy 1989-92; PRO 1992-95):
  Did his schooling from CST Dalhouie. Joined the Gyuto Tantric Monastery at Hunsur in 1970 and was Gen Secy of Monastery for 12 years. He held the post of President for tow successive terms 1983-89 of the RTYC, Hunsur and Vice President and President of the Joint Action Committee of the South India. He did a dairy farming course in the US in 1989, and joined the CTA service in 1980 and appointed as Settlement Officer at Tezu and Orissa. He also served as the PRO at the Bureau of H.H. the Dalai Lama in New Delhi.

 

• NYIMA SAMKAR (Public Relation Officer 1989-92):
  Finished schooling from CST Mussoorie in 1973 and did B.A. at the DAV College in Chandigarh. He was Cultural Secretary, Joint Secretary and later acting President of RTYC Chandigarh and Herbertpur. He served the CTA as Welfare & Settlement Officer at Herbertpur, Darjeeling, and Solu Khumbu in Nepal.

 

• SONAM NORBU DAGPO (Social Wel Off 1980-83; President 1983-86; Disciplinary Off. 1989-92):
  Did his basic schooling from CST Darjeeling and joined Delhi University and Jamai Milia Islamia University in Delhi to get his B.A., M.A. and B.Ed. He held twice the post of President in Delhi RTYC. Taught in SFF School in Herbertpur for several years. Afterwards, he served in CTA at the Research & Analysis Office in Delhi. In 1992, he got a USIA scholarship to study in the USA. He headed the India and FDC Desk at DIIR. He served as the Secretary at Bureau of H.H. the Dalai Lama. Presently, he is an additional Secretary at DIIR.
