• KALSANG PHUNTSOK (President 2004-2007) : Completed his schooling from CST, Darjeeling. Served as a treasurer of RTYC Darjeeling from 1970-80. Obtained his Master degree in Economics from Punjab University, Chandigarh and post graduate studies in Business Management MBM degree from Kurukshetra University, Haryana. Held the post of cashier of RTYC and President of TFM, Chandigarh from 1981-83. He was a founding member of Songtsen Birjuti Samajic and Sanskritic Sewa Sangh based in Kathmandu, Nepal. He served as the President of RTYC Kathmandu from 1999-2001.In the XIIth GBM of TYC, he was re-elected to the post of President.

 

  • LOBSANG YESHI (Vice President 2004-2007) : An alumni of SFF Tibetan School Herbertpur, Joined Punjab University and obtained Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education from Government College, Chandigarh. He worked as the General Secretary of TFM (1990-1991) and President of RTYC, Chandigarh (1991-1992). From 1992-94, he worked as a teacher in Tibetan School at Paonta Sahib and from 1994-99, he worked in Delhi based Tibetan Affairs Monitor and Research Unit as translator. He also worked as an English teacher in Sera-Jhe Higher Secondary School at Bylakuppe from 1999-2004. In the XIIth GBM of TYC, he was re-elected to the post of Vice President.

 

  • TSULTRIM DORJEE (General Secretary/Editor Tibetan Rangzen 2004-2007) : Born in Darjeeling. He did his schooling from CST Darjeeling and completed his graduation from St. Joseph’s college, Darjeeling. During his college days he served as the General Secretary and President of the RTYC, Darjeeling for two consecutive terms from 1997-1999 and 1999 – 2001 respectively. He also served as the editor of Regional Magazine called ‘Gyalkhai Kyareng’. Besides, he worked as a teacher at the Manjushree Centre of Tibetan Culture along with giving talks on All India Radio. He also participated in various workshops and has attended various national and international conferences including the 3rd Assembly of World Movement for Democracy held in Durban, South Africa.In the XIIth GBM of TYC, he was re-elected to the post of General Secretary.

 

  • JIGME THINLAY (Joint Secretary 2004-2006) : Did his schooling from Tibetan Homes Foundations and CST Mussoorie. He was an active member of TYC and executive member of Student Council of Tibetan Youth Hostel (Delhi) from 1996-1997. Earned his bachelor degree in Commerce from Delhi University and completed his M.Com and M.A. in Economics from DAV College, Dehradun (Garwal University). Before his election to the Centrex, he was elected as President of regional working committee of TYC Dekyiling branch. In the XIIth GBM of TYC, he was re-elected to the Centrex.

 

  • SHERAB WOESER CHOPHEL (International Relation/Editor English Rangzen 2004-2007) : An alumni of TCV School Upper Dharamsala, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Punjab University, Chandigarh. During his college days he served as the General Secretary and later as the President of RTYC Chandigarh from 2001 – 2002 and 2002 – 2003 respectively. Currently pursuing masters in English through correspondence, he was the International Relations secretary of TYC and the Editor of English Rangzen.

 

  • DHONDUP DORJEE (Information Secretary 2004-2007) : An alumni of Tibetan Educational And Children’s Home (TEACH), he did his matriculation from CST Kollegal and completed his higher secondary school from CST Mundgod. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Madras Christian College (MCC) and completed his Masters in Economics from Hyderabad Central University (HCU). Thereafter he obtained his M.Phil in Diplomatic Studies (School of International Studies) from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Currently he is pursuing Ph.D in Diplomatic Studies from JNU and postgraduate Diploma in Human Rights from HCU (Distance Education). He was one the founding members of RTYC Hyderabad in his capacity as the Cultural and Sports Secretary from 2000-01 and later served as its president from 2001-02. He was also one of the executive member of Tibetan Student’s Association Madras (TSAM) and during his stay at JNU he was the founding President of Tibet Forum from 2003-04. Interested in games, Tibetan cultural dance, readings, and surfing the net, he was the Information Secretary of TYC.

 

  • TSERING DHUNDUP (Public Relation Officer / Asst. Editor English Rangzen 2004-2007) : Born in Shimla, did his schooling from Central School for Tibetans, Shimla during which he eagerly participated in debates, singing, quiz, drama, etc. In 1997, he passed his +2 examination with first division (74%) and thereafter earned his bachelor’s degree from Kirorimal college of Delhi university with first division as well. In the year 2003 he earned his master’s degree in Geography from Himachal Pradesh University and was the Gold Medallist of the university. Presently, he is pursuing M.Phil in geography and doing research on the topic, “The spatial patterns of literacy and education of the Tibetans in exile”. His major field of interest is the demographic and the cultural aspects of Tibetans and was the Public Relation Officer of TYC.

 

  • NYIMA WANGMO (Finance Secretary 2004-2006) : Born in Bylakuppe, did her school education till 8th from CVP Bylakuppe and thereafter completed her schooling from Kodaikanal International school. She earned her bachelors degree from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore and is presently pursuing masters degree in political science from Himachal Pradesh university through correspondence. She has served as office secretary of RTYC, Dharamshala for 4 years and was twice elected to the post of general secretary of RTYC, Dharamsala. Besides, she had worked as a volunteer in TYC Office for eight months and was also a leader of the Longsho group for 2 years. She was the Finance Secretary of TYC.

 

  • PEMA YANGCHEN (Organisational Secretary /Asst. Editor Tibetan Rangzen 2004-2007) :Born in Shimla, did her schooling with first division from Central School for Tibetans, Shimla and earned her bachelor’s degree from Government Girls College, Shimla. She obtained diploma in secretarial practice from Davar’s college, Bangalore. During her college days she served the regional Tibetan Youth Congress, Shimla as Joint Secretary. She was also one of the founding members of Regional Tibetan Women’s Association and Regional Indo-Tibetan Friendship Society, Shimla. Besides she also served Tibetan Youth Congress Centrex office as an office secretary and the circulation manager of TYC magazine “Rangzen” for six years. She was the Organisational Secretary of TYC.
