On December 7, 2022, Drew Pavlov, an Australian based human rights activist,  actively participated in a solidarity demonstration organized in support of the White Paper uprising protest in China at Mcleod Ganj. The demonstration aimed to show solidarity with the protesters in China who were advocating for change and opposing the Chinese Communist regime.

In addition, Drew Pavlov visited the Tibetan Youth Congress office, where he engaged in a productive discussion with representatives from various Tibetan organizations. The participants included members from the Tibetan Youth Congress, Tibetan Women’s Association, Students for a Free Tibet, and the National Democratic Party of Tibet. The discussion covered a range of topics, including the ongoing Tibetan struggle movements in the diaspora and other relevant issues related to the Tibetan cause.

These interactions and discussions highlight the collaborative efforts and exchange of ideas among Tibetan organizations and activists, working towards promoting the Tibetan struggle and addressing the challenges faced by Tibetans both inside Tibet and in the diaspora.

 

The all-India Tibet Support-Group Conference took place on November 28, 2022. TYC Vice President Mr Tashi Targyal, as well as Mr Tsering Choephel, the Joint Secretary, along with the President and General Secretary of the Delhi chapter participated in the conference.

On the last day of the two-day conference, the participants expressed their support and solidarity with peaceful demonstrators in China. These demonstrators were advocating for democracy and calling for Xi Jinping to step down from his position as a dictator.

Seminar at Tawang, in presence of Shri Pema Khandu Ji, the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh

On 21st November 2022, the President of the Tibetan Youth Congress, Gonpo Dhondup, along with General Secretary Sonam Tsering, BTSM General Secretary Shri Pankaj Goyal and Maha Mangleswar – Swami Yatinand visited the Bum La Indo-Tibet border. They interacted with army commanders at police outposts, strengthening ties and understanding between the organizations and the military.

 

On the same day, the Tibetan Youth Congress President spoke at a seminar organized by the Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch (BTSM) in Tawang. The seminar was also addressed by Shri Pema Khandu Ji, the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Maha Mangleswar – Swami Yatinand, and BTSM National General Secretary Shri Pankaj Goyal Ji. The meeting was attended by MLAs Phurpa Tsering Ji and DW Kharma Ji, along with other dignitaries. Following the seminar, a protest rally was organized at the main market, demanding the independence of Tibet.

These events and interactions demonstrate the collaboration between the Tibetan Youth Congress, BTSM, and various governmental and regional figures, aiming to raise awareness about the Tibetan cause and strengthen support for the Tibetan community.

 

On 11th November 2022, a group from the Australia Tibet Council visit the Central Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) Office. During their visit, the TYC President, Gonpo Dhondup, engaged in close interaction with the group and provided them with a comprehensive briefing about the་Tibetan Youth Congress, as well as the current critical situation inside Tibet.

 

The meeting served as a platform for the TYC President to share valuable insights into the Tibetan Youth Congress’s history, outlining its founding principles, objectives, and the significance of its activism. This allowed the visitors from the Australia Tibet Council to gain a deeper understanding of the TYC and other NGO’s role in advocating for the rights and freedom of Tibetans.

Additionally, President Gonpo Dhondup highlighted the ongoing critical situation inside Tibet, shedding light on the challenges faced by Tibetans under Chinese rule. This discussion covered various issues such as human rights violations, cultural suppression, and the struggle for freedom.

On 27^th October 2022, the Central Tibetan Youth Congress Office was visited by Ms.Maggie Dougherty, a professional staff member of the Senate foreign relations committee; Mr. Matt Squeri, staff director of CECC; and Ms. Tenchoe Gyaltso la, ICT Interim Vice President and former member of the Tibetan Parliament met with Tibetan NGOs.

The president, Mr. Gonpo Dhondup with four other representatives of Non-Governmental Organizations welcomed foreign dignitaries; and highlighted critically emerging issues of Tibet inside Tibet.

On 25th September 2022, TYC President Gonpo Dhondup had a meeting with the President of the Tibetan Youth Association in Europe (TYAE), Dalha la, along with other board members. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss strategies and plans for strengthening the freedom struggle and promoting the Tibetan cause through joint actions in the future.

During the meeting, the participants engaged in fruitful discussions on various aspects related to the Tibetan freedom movement. They shared ideas, insights, and experiences to enhance their collective efforts in advocating for the rights and aspirations of the Tibetan people. The meeting provided an opportunity for TYC and TYAE to collaborate and work together towards common goals.

After the meeting, TYAE board members hosted a lunch, fostering camaraderie and strengthening the bond between the two organizations. Such interactions and exchanges of ideas are essential for maintaining unity and solidarity within the Tibetan diaspora and for advancing the cause of Tibet.

TYC President along with the participants of the UN Advocacy Training in Geneva

President Mr. Gonpo Dhundup, actively participated in a three-day United Nations advocacy training organized by the Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR), in collaboration with the Tibet Bureau, Geneva, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA). The training took place in Geneva, Switzerland, from September 19th to September 21st, 2022.

The primary objective of the training was to introduce and enhance participants’ understanding of Tibet advocacy at the United Nations and its mechanisms. It aimed to provide fundamental knowledge and raise awareness about effectively advocating for Tibet-related issues within the UN system. The training covered various topics, including UN procedures, human rights advocacy, diplomatic engagement, and strategies for promoting the Tibetan cause on the international stage.

 

By participating in this training, Mr. Gonpo Dhundup and other attendees had the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge in UN advocacy, which would further contribute to their efforts in raising awareness and garnering support for Tibet-related issues at the international level.
