On December 4, 2022, the President and General Secretary visited Sambhota Tibetan School in Kalimpong. During their visit, they delivered a talk focusing on the current situation inside Tibet.

Briefed the students about the activities and objectives of the Tibetan Youth Congress, aiming to raise awareness among the younger generation about the ongoing struggle for freedom and human rights in Tibet. Following the talk, a question and answer session provided an opportunity for students to engage and seek in-depth information.

After the awareness talk at Sambhota Tibetan School, the TYC President and General Secretary along with RTYC Kalingpong President Jingpa Tashi paid a visit to Kungo Gyalo Dhondup la, the elder brother of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. This visit was a gesture to extend greetings and pay their respects to Kungo Gyalo Dhondup la, who holds a significant position within the Tibetan community.

These activities demonstrate the TYC’s dedication to engaging with Tibetan youth, informing them about the current situation in Tibet, and fostering a sense of unity and awareness. Additionally, paying respects to influential figures within the Tibetan community reflects the TYC’s commitment to maintaining important connections and showing reverence to individuals who have made significant contributions to the Tibetan cause.

On December 1, 2022, the President and General Secretary arrived in Sonada.

They engaged in interactions with Tibetans residing in Sonada, as well as with the settlement officer, Mr. Tenzin Woesal. The primary focus of these interactions was to discuss about the critical situation inside Tibet and the strengthening of the freedom movement. And aimed to discuss these issues and gather insights from the public.

On December 3, 2022, the TYC President and General Secretary visited the Darjeeling Tibetan Self-Help Centre and Sambhota School. During their visit, they met with representatives of Tibetan associations and delivered a public talk on the current situation prevailing inside Tibet, as well as the needs to strengthen the freedom movement in exile. The objective of this public talk was to raise awareness and provide updates on the ongoing struggle for freedom and human rights in Tibet.

These visits and interactions signify the TYC’s commitment to engaging with Tibetans, discussing pressing issues, and strengthening the movement for freedom and justice.

On November 28, 2022, the President and General Secretary had a meeting with Dawa Gyalpo la, one of the longest-serving members of the Tibetan Youth Congress. The meeting was primarily aimed to understand the overall activities and the conditions of the Regional Chapters in the North-East.

On the same day, they also spoke to Tibetans residing in Oblabari. The focus of their discussion was the ground situation inside Tibet and the needs of active participation by the Tibetans in Tibet related campaign activities. Additionally, they appointed a Regional TYC chapter Coordinator.

On November 29, 2022, the TYC President and General Secretary met with Tibetans in Mirik and Kerseong, and discussed about the current critical situation inside Tibet and the freedom movement in exile.

As part of the Tibetan Regional Chapters visiting program, the President and General Secretary were invited to Dimapur, Nagaland, where they engaged with the local Tibetan community. On 26th November 2022, upon their arrival in Dimapur, they took the opportunity to address the Tibetans residing there, shedding light on the alarming situation prevailing inside Tibet.

During their interaction, the President and General Secretary emphasized the need for heightened awareness and understanding of the challenges faced by Tibetans under Chinese rule. They discussed issues such as human rights violations, cultural suppression, and the struggle for freedom in Tibet. By doing so, they aimed to empower the Tibetan community in Dimapur and inspire them to actively contribute to the Tibetan cause.

The visit to Dimapur served as a platform to strengthen ties between the Tibetan Youth Congress leadership and the local Tibetan community. Through their presence and engagement, the President and General Secretary demonstrated their commitment to promote awareness among all the Tibetans across the country.

By promoting awareness and encouraging active participation, the Tibetan Youth Congress leadership seeks to mobilize Tibetans in Dimapur and beyond, fostering unity and resilience in the ongoing pursuit of freedom, justice, and the preservation of Tibetan culture and identity.

After two days, on the 24th of November 2022, the President and General Secretary visited the Tezu Tibetan settlement. During their visit, they engaged in interactions with the Tibetan community residing in the settlement. The primary focus of these interactions was to create awareness about the critical situation inside Tibet.

The President and General Secretary delivered a talk aimed at raising awareness among the Tibetans about the challenges and hardships faced by fellow Tibetans, such as human rights violations, cultural suppression, and the struggle for freedom.

By conducting this awareness-creation talk and engaging in discussions with the Tibetan community in Tezu, TYC aimed to empower and mobilize the Tibetans in their pursuit of freedom. These interactions serve as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by Tibetans and the need for continued activism and support for the Tibetan cause.”

On 24th November 2022, the President and Secretary arrived at the Tibetan Settlement of Miao Choephelling. During their visit, they had the opportunity to meet with local Tibetan community leaders and visit various establishments such as offices, healthcare centres, and schools.

One of the key highlights of their visit was their talk at the Sambhota School, where they conducted an awareness-creation talk. This talk particularly focused on raising awareness about the critical situation inside Tibet, highlighting the challenges faced by Tibetans living under Chinese rule, and emphasizing the importance of education in the fights for justice.

In the afternoon, they engaged with broader Tibetan community with a public talk that  allowed them to connect with a wider audience, address their concerns, and inspire them to actively participate in the Tibetan freedom movement.

These engagements and awareness-creation talks aim to empower and mobilize the local Tibetans, encouraging them to actively contribute to Tibet’s freedom and preservation of Tibetan culture and identity.
