Cycle Rally
Cycle Rally from Chandigarh to Delhi
RTYC Chandigarh organized a 6-daylong cycle rally from Chandigarh to Delhi starting from Chandigarh Punjab University on 1st January 2007. It was publicly organized against the International Olympic Games held in China, the illegal arrest of Tibetan political campaigners, and human rights violations in Tibet. The cycle rally was joined by Tibetan College students coming from different Indian states and 4 out of 24 Total participants were female. On the way to Delhi highway, cyclists distributed leaflets, raised slogans and interacted with local and national news agencies. The RTYC President, Mr. Tenzin Norsang set off the cycle rally and extended his sincere appreciation to the riders.
Cycle Rally for Panchen Lama
On 17th May 2016, the Tibetan Youth Congress organized a four-daylong cycle rally from Dekyiling to Gorimari, Dehradun. The campaign started with Indian politician MLA Mr. Ganesh Joshi of Mussoorie and Mr. TamsingRichoe, Vice President of the Tibetan Youth Congress.
The Chief guest Mr. Ganesh Joshi ensure his political support in resolving Tibet’s issue as the interest of India’s national interest, and the Vice President of the Tibetan Youth Congress spoke, “We strongly urge the Tibetan and international community to pressure China to release and information on whereabouts of the 11th Panchen Lama, Gedhun Choekyi Nyima who had been abducted by Chinese Communist Regime”.
Bike rally for whereabouts of the 11th Panchen Lama
Tibetan Youth Congress in affiliation with Students for a Free Tibet organized a daylong bike rally. It was started in front of the Tibetan Martyrs pillar at Mcleod Ganj, Dharamshala on 25th May 2019 and announced to be concluded in Delhi.
A group of 30 Tibetan bikers raced off against the abduction of the 11th Panchen Lama by the Chinese Communist Regime and urged the international community to get released the 11th Panchen Lama and all other Tibetan political prisoners in Tibet.
Mr. Tenzing Jigme, president of the Tibetan Youth Congress said, “The Chinese government has no legitimate role in the matters of Tibetan tradition and spirituality. Such interference will be rejected by the Tibetan people.”
Indo-Tibet Border Bike Rally
Tibetan Youth Congress on 18th November 2020 organized a six-day long bike rally from Mcleod Ganj to Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh. The Indo-Tibet Border bike rally started with the presence of Mr. Kishan Kapoor, Member of Parliament, and Mr. Pema Jugney, Speaker of the Tibetan Government-in-exile, and Ven. Acharya YeshiPhuntsok, Deputy Speaker of Tibetan Parliament in exile.
The president of the Tibetan Youth Congress spoke to the news media, “China posed a threat to India’s security after the occupation of Tibet by the Chinese forces. Thus, the Indo-Tibet border bike rally aims to boycott Made in China-products and elucidate Indian public the historical relationship between Tibet and India”. It was a huge collective campaign having more than 50 bikers and 65 participants involved.
Bike Rally against Winter Olympic in China
On 10th December 2022, to commemorate the conferment of the Noble Peace Prize to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and to mark the International Day of Human Rights, RTYC Samyeling, Delhi has started an all-India Bike Rally from Bangalore. This was organized to protest against the Winter Olympics in China and to condemn all the atrocities committed by the Communist Party of China.
Mr. Sonam Tsering, TYC General Secretary attended the opening event in Bangalore and as a gesture of support, he accompanied them from Bangalore to the Dalai Lama Institution for Higher Education as they move forward to their next destination.
