In a significant development and responding to our lobbying efforts on the issue of self-immolations, the Subcommittee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development has invited TYC, VP Dhondup Lhadar to testify before the House of Commons of the Parliament of Canada. This is scheduled for the 29 January 2013. I will send you the full text of his testimony once he has testified. VP’s testimony will focus on the issue of self-immolations and submit our recommendations on the same.
