Brussels, October 7: Tibet Support Group Belgium "Les Amis du Tibet" with Tibetan Community Belgium and Regional Tibetan Youth Congress (RTYC), Belgium demonstrated for 57 minutes in front of the Chinese Embassy in Brussels to protest illegal invasion of Tibet by Communist China’s troops on October 7, 1950. More than 130 people, Tibetans and Belgian supporters of Tibet, gathered for the demonstration under a sunny and blue sky Sunday.

According to the Tibet Support Group, after 57 years of occupation, the situation in Tibet is not getting better for Tibetan people. The group said: “We still have no news of the Panchen Lama. Last month around 40 teenagers, students in Labrang, have been arrested on suspicion of protesting. Four of them remain in Sanchu (Xiahe) County detention centre. We also have no news of Rongye Adrak after he spoke to a big audience in Lithang on August 1st asking whether people wanted His Holiness the Dalai Lama to return to Tibet.”

“This was the day when Chinese communist regime first came into the roof of the world (Tibet) from Chamdo region and since then occupied it for more than fifty years”, RTYC president Karma told the gathering in his talk.

In his speech, Mr Karma urged people to demand China for immediate release of 11th Panchen Lama - Gendun Choekyi Nyima, Trulku Tenzin Delek, Pawo Adak, and other political prisoners languishing in Chinese prisons and detention centres in Tibet.
