TYC strives to keep alive the issue of Tibetan independence in the international arena by:

* Making direct and indirect representations at various international forums to disseminate true information regarding China’s invasion and continued brutal occupation of Tibet and most importantly to seek resolution of Tibet and most importantly to seek resolutions in support of Tibet.
* Initiating and organising different awareness raising activities such as peace marches, public demonstrations, picketing, fasting and press conferences etc. to internationalise issues related to China’s occupation of Tibet.
* Lobbying for support for Tibet through public relation campaigns, networking and alliance building with Students’ Organisations, International Bodies, NGOs, Governments, Parliaments and leaders and scholars and people etc.
* Publication of magazines; RANGZEN (meaning independence) in English and Tibetan to inform the Tibetans and the world public about developments inside Tibet and also to present a forum for a free and frank discussion on all issues relating to the Tibetan national struggle.
* Publication of report books and pamphlets on specific issues relating to the Chinese occupation of Tibet and the Tibetan freedom struggle.

An equally important task of TYC is to keep alive the freedom struggle among our own people – especially among the younger generation. To a great extent this is done by involving the public and the youth in the various activities of TYC mentioned above.

TYC also organises lectures and programmes in schools to motivate the students.
